Former Wonder Girls Member Woo Hyerim Engages in Charitable Work for Wildfire Victims

Woo Hyerim, a former member of the girl group Wonder Girls, has been quietly making a positive impact by helping victims of recent wildfires. On March 29, she shared photos and videos on her personal social media accounts, showcasing her participation in a volunteer activity where she made rice balls to distribute to those affected by the fires.
In collaboration with YouTuber Park Mak-rye and a volunteer organization, Hyerim contributed to the preparation of 600 rice balls. Wearing a hygiene cap and mask, she personally crafted the rice balls to provide comfort to the evacuees living in temporary shelters.
Hyerim expressed her gratitude for being part of this meaningful initiative, stating, "I participated in making rice balls to deliver to the elderly affected by the wildfires. I first learned about KLC (Korea Legacy Committee) through Mr. Mike, who was a guest on a radio show, and I have been interested ever since. It was truly a significant and grateful experience to be part of this emergency volunteer effort. I was also delighted to meet the other volunteers!"
She further explained that KLC is a non-profit organization established in 2015, aimed at addressing the issue of elderly poverty in South Korea. The organization prioritizes solving food insecurity for seniors and collaborates with youth to raise awareness about the realities of elderly poverty in Korean society, striving for positive change through active engagement.
This is not the first time Hyerim has engaged in charitable work. In 2018, she lent her voice to a fundraising campaign for advanced assistive devices for children and youth with disabilities. She has also shown her support for animal welfare by wearing shirts that promote the adoption of stray cats.
Debuting in 2010 as a member of Wonder Girls, she gained popularity with hits like '2 Different Tears' and 'Why So Lonely.' Now married to taekwondo athlete Shin Min-cheol, she is a proud mother of two sons and often shares her warm family life with fans.
