Former Shinhan Bank Executive Appears in Special Investigation over IMS Mobility Investment Allegations

On July 23, 2025, Jeong Geun-soo, the former vice president of Shinhan Bank and current head of Shinhan Investment Corp.'s Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division, appeared before the special investigation team led by Kim Geon-hee. The investigation centers around allegations of preferential investment in IMS Mobility, a company linked to Kim Geon-hee's associates. In June 2023, Shinhan Bank was identified as one of the companies that invested in IMS Mobility through the private equity fund Oasis Equity Partners, which is associated with an individual known as Mr. Kim, who has ties to Kim Geon-hee's family. Out of a total investment of 18.4 billion KRW, Shinhan Bank contributed 3 billion KRW. The special investigation team suspects that Kim Geon-hee may have been involved in the investment process. During the questioning, they are expected to inquire about the circumstances that led to the investment and the nature of Jeong's relationship with Mr. Kim.
