Former Presidential Candidate Kim Moon-soo Pays Tribute on Memorial Day

On June 6, former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo visited the National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, to pay his respects on Memorial Day. Accompanied by Kim Yong-tae, the emergency committee chair of the People Power Party, and members of his presidential campaign team, Kim participated in a ceremony at the Memorial Tower, laying flowers and offering incense.
Kim expressed his gratitude to all the fallen heroes who sacrificed for the greatness of South Korea, stating, "It is because of their spirit of sacrifice that our nation has been able to develop so significantly." He further wished for South Korea to overcome its current crises and for the safety and happiness of its citizens to be safeguarded by these heroes.
Following the presidential election, Kim has been actively engaging in public events, which has fueled speculation about his potential candidacy for party leadership. He attended the disbandment ceremony of the party's election campaign committee the day after the election and criticized the erosion of democracy within the party and factional divisions. His public appearances have led to conjecture regarding his ambitions for party leadership.
However, during the campaign disbandment ceremony, Kim stated, "I have no desire to be the party leader. Now is not the time for power struggles."
