Former President Yoon Suk-yeol Summoned for Second Investigation on July 1

The special investigation team led by Jo Eun-seok, which is probing former President Yoon Suk-yeol for charges of insurrection and foreign exchange violations, has notified Yoon's legal team that they will be required to appear for a second round of questioning on July 1 at 9 AM. During a briefing on June 29, Deputy Special Prosecutor Park Ji-young stated that the team has requested the dispatch of three police officers to assist in the investigation and will rigorously pursue those spreading false information, regardless of their status. The investigation team is also considering potential criminal charges against Yoon's legal representatives for allegedly making false claims regarding the involvement of Police Chief Park Chang-hwan in the execution of Yoon's arrest warrant. This follows an initial investigation where Yoon was questioned and subsequently returned home early on June 29. Initially, the team had scheduled the second questioning for June 30, but Yoon's lawyers requested a postponement until after July 3 due to court schedules. The special investigation team has now adjusted the date by one day, taking into account the lawyers' request. Deputy Prosecutor Park confirmed that the new date was communicated after considering the opinions of Yoon's legal team.
