Former President Yoon Suk-yeol Appears for Second Arrest Warrant Hearing

On the afternoon of July 9, 2025, former President Yoon Suk-yeol attended a pre-arrest hearing at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The hearing began at 2:22 PM, presided over by Chief Judge Nam Se-jin, following a request for an arrest warrant filed by the special prosecutor's office on July 6. The charges against Yoon include abuse of power, forgery of official documents, and obstruction of special public duties.

Yoon arrived at the court around 2:11 PM but did not respond to questions from reporters, heading directly into the courtroom. The hearing is taking place in Room 321 of the court, a location previously used for hearings involving former Presidents Park Geun-hye and Lee Myung-bak.

After the hearing concludes, Yoon will wait at the Seoul Detention Center for the results, which are expected to be announced later that evening. If the arrest warrant is granted, it will mark Yoon's re-arrest four months after being released due to a court decision in March. Conversely, if the warrant is denied, he will be released immediately.
