Former President Yoon Seok-yeol Faces Arrest Warrant Amid Ongoing Investigation

The special investigation team probing former President Yoon Seok-yeol for charges related to insurrection and foreign exchange violations announced on June 24 that it has requested an arrest warrant against him for obstructing official duties. In a press release, the team stated that Yoon had failed to comply with police summons on two occasions and had also declined to appear on June 19, the day after the investigation commenced on June 18. The team emphasized that Yoon has clearly expressed his intention not to respond to any further summons. Following the transfer of the case on June 23, the special investigation team deemed it necessary to seek an arrest warrant to ensure continuity in the investigation of the suspect.
