Former BTL Member Oh Ji-min Transitions to Life as a Painter

Oh Ji-min (오지민), a former member of the boy group BTL, has recently shared updates about his life as a painter. During an appearance on the KBS Joy variety show 'Ask Anything' (무엇이든 물어보살) on June 9, he revealed, "I am currently running a painting business." He also mentioned that he met his wife during his military service and they have two sons together, expressing a desire for a third child, a daughter, for which he sought advice on the show.

BTL, the nine-member idol group that Oh Ji-min was part of, was active from 2014 for about two years before disbanding. Reflecting on that time, he stated, "We filmed a music video for our second album, but we suddenly disbanded." He had originally aspired to be an actor and studied theater and film before debuting as an idol, but things did not go as planned.

Oh Ji-min shared that he and his wife experienced a premarital pregnancy during his military service. His wife is currently 26 years old, and their first son is five, while their second son is 15 months old.

Regarding his painting business, he explained, "During peak season, I earn between 12 million to 15 million won, but in the off-season, it drops to about 2 million won." He noted that while his situation has improved, he started with nothing after getting married and took out loans to help his wife start a café, which they are still repaying.

Previously, in March of last year, Oh Ji-min disclosed his work as a painter through a YouTube channel. He stated, "I thought about what I could do to earn more money and started this. My satisfaction level is almost 120%. The best part is having a work-life balance that allows me to spend time with my kids. Sometimes, I get so engrossed in painting that I lose track of time and wonder if I should be heading home. It's genuinely fun!"
