Park Hyun-jong, the former chairman of BHC, has been transferred to the prosecution after being investigated for embezzlement and breach of trust. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's anti-corruption unit, Park was sent to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office without detention on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. The police believe that Park misappropriated hundreds of millions of won from company funds, leading to searches of his residence in Songpa-gu and BHC's headquarters in December 2023. A request for an arrest warrant for Park was submitted in March but was denied by the court.

In addition to the embezzlement charges, Park was also indicted in February for violating the Information and Communications Network Act and the Personal Information Protection Act by accessing the internal network of competitor BBQ using the IDs and passwords of two former employees to steal trade secrets. He received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, from the Supreme Court.

Park previously served as the vice president in charge of overseas operations at BBQ before moving to BHC after BBQ sold the company to a private equity fund in 2013. He was dismissed from his position as chairman by BHC's parent company, Global Gourmet Services, in November 2023, citing management reform.

Investigations have revealed that Moon Jae-in's daughter, Moon Da-hye, was a member of both the Democratic Party and the Justice Party during her father's presidency. The National Police Agency's investigation uncovered that the head of the National Security Office advised her to resign from the Democratic Party after concerns arose about the potential negative impact on the president's administration due to her dual membership. 

According to the indictment submitted by the Ministry of Justice, the situation escalated when Moon Da-hye's membership in the Justice Party was widely reported in January 2018, raising suspicions about her dual affiliation. A prosecutor stated that evidence confirming her membership in the Democratic Party was obtained through seizures, noting that belonging to multiple parties is illegal, but they did not pursue charges due to the statute of limitations.

The investigation also indicated that Moon Jae-in assisted his son-in-law, Seo Mo, in securing various jobs as the couple faced financial difficulties. The indictment detailed that in February 2016, after Seo failed repeatedly in law school admissions and his marriage deteriorated, Moon Jae-in facilitated his employment at 'Tori Games' through a former administrative officer from his administration.

Despite a monthly salary of 2.6 million won, the couple struggled to meet their average monthly expenses of over 6 million won, relying on 4 million won in monthly support from Seo's mother. However, as her financial situation worsened, the support ceased, and by late January 2018, the couple's total savings dwindled to just 2 million won.

Subsequently, Moon Jae-in helped Seo secure a position at Thai low-cost airline Thai AirAsia, where he earned a total of 217 million won from August 2018 to April 2020. Prosecutors have classified this payment as a bribe to Moon Jae-in. The Presidential Security Service reported Seo's employment and the security plans for Moon Da-hye's family in Thailand to the former president, who approved them.

On April 24, the Jeonju District Prosecutor's Office indicted Moon Jae-in on bribery charges without detention, alongside former lawmaker Lee, who allegedly provided favors to the family. Moon Da-hye and Seo received deferred prosecution. In response, Moon Jae-in criticized the investigation as politically motivated, claiming it was designed to harass and humiliate him and his family. He has since filed complaints against the prosecutors involved for abuse of power and leaking information.

In light of these developments, lawmaker Joo Jin-woo stated that if Moon Jae-in and the Democratic Party had any sense of shame, they should apologize to the public, criticizing their attempts to intimidate the judiciary and prosecutors with threats of impeachment and legal action.

In the early hours of May 10, 2025, a tragic accident occurred in Yongdu-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, when a taxi collided with another taxi before crashing into a safety barrier. The incident, which took place around 1:42 AM, resulted in the death of an 80-year-old male taxi driver, referred to as A. Despite receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during transport to the hospital, A could not be saved. Two passengers in A's taxi sustained injuries but are reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the other taxi involved in the collision also escaped serious injury. The Dongdaemun Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

2025년 5월 10일 이른 아침, 서울 동대문구 용두동에서 택시가 다른 택시와 충돌한 후 안전 바리케이드에 부딪히는 비극적인 사고가 발생했다. 이 사건은 오전 1시 42분경에 발생했으며, 80세 남성 택시 운전사 A가 사망하는 결과를 초래했다. A는 병원으로 이송되는 동안 심폐소생술(CPR)을 받았으나 구출되지 못했다. A의 택시에 탑승했던 두 명의 승객은 부상을 입었으나 안정된 상태로 보고되고 있다. 충돌에 연루된 다른 택시의 운전사도 심각한 부상을 피했다. 동대문 경찰서는 현재 사고의 경위를 조사하고 있다.

On May 8, Seo Ha-yan released a video titled 'A Compilation of Daily Life from the Past Four Seasons' on her channel. In this heartwarming update, she shared moments with her husband, Im Chang-jung, and their sons. The video features Im Chang-jung assisting their son with riding a bicycle, which Seo humorously described as 'a 50-year-old father's struggle.' 

Additionally, the video showcases Seo Ha-yan and Im Chang-jung engaging in walking exercises and her practicing yoga. Reflecting on her journey, Seo Ha-yan remarked, 'Those days when my heart was as flexible as my body,' indicating her gradual recovery and return to daily life. 

Towards the end of the video, after washing her face, she expressed a heartfelt message about self-acceptance, saying, 'It's okay not to be perfect. I want to take things at my own pace, learning and sharing little by little. As we communicate, I hope this space fills with warmth, and that my existence can be a source of comfort.' 

Seo Ha-yan married Im Chang-jung, who is 18 years her senior, in 2017 and they welcomed a son together. Although she was an active influencer, she paused her activities when her husband faced allegations related to stock manipulation. Recently, Im Chang-jung was cleared of any wrongdoing and made his comeback with a new song titled 'What Happens Will Happen.'

Seo Ha-yan Shares Daily Life with Im Chang-jung and Their Children

A 49-year-old woman, identified as A, has been sentenced to six months in prison after threatening her neighbor over alleged noise disturbances. The ruling was made by Judge Hwang Hae-cheol at the Chuncheon District Court's Wonju branch on May 9, 2025. 

The incident occurred on October 20, 2024, when A entered the home of her 29-year-old neighbor, B, in a multi-family residence in Wonju, Gangwon Province. A reportedly shouted at B and threatened her with a pen, believing that B was causing excessive noise. 

Just three days later, on October 23, A returned to B's residence, repeatedly tugging at the doorknob and throwing B's sneakers out of the window. 

The court took into account A's previous conviction for child abuse, which had resulted in a suspended sentence, and deemed her a potential repeat offender. Judge Hwang stated that A showed no remorse during the trial and emphasized the need for a strict punishment given her history and the nature of her actions.

49세 여성 A씨가 소음 문제로 이웃을 위협한 혐의로 6개월의 징역형을 선고받았다. 이 판결은 2025년 5월 9일 춘천지방법원 원주지원의 황해철 판사에 의해 내려졌다.

사건은 2024년 10월 20일 발생했으며, A씨는 강원도 원주에 있는 다세대 주택에서 29세 이웃 B씨의 집에 들어갔다. A씨는 B씨에게 소음이 과도하다고 믿고 소리치며 펜으로 위협했다고 전해졌다.

단 3일 후인 10월 23일, A씨는 다시 B씨의 집으로 돌아와, 반복적으로 문 손잡이를 잡아당기고 B씨의 운동화를 창밖으로 던졌다.

법원은 A씨의 아동 학대 전과를 고려하여 집행유예 판결을 내렸던 점을 감안하고, 그녀를 재범 가능성이 있는 범죄자로 판단했다. 황 판사는 A씨가 재판 중 반성을 보이지 않았으며, 그녀의 전력과 행동의 성격을 고려할 때 엄중한 처벌이 필요하다고 강조했다.
