Former AOA Member Kwon Mina Shares Heartbreaking News About Her Dog

Kwon Mina, a former member of the girl group AOA, recently shared some distressing news regarding her beloved pet, Mochi. On January 19, she posted a photo of Mochi on her personal social media account, stating, "Our beloved Mochi is still so cute, right?" However, she also revealed that Mochi has been diagnosed with malignant cancer after several surgeries for a growth on her leg that kept recurring. Kwon Mina expressed her sorrow, saying, "The pain is expected to worsen, and I have been advised to prepare myself to let her go."

She continued, "I am looking into pain relief options, including anesthesia and euthanasia, but I am grateful for all the love and support I have received. If anyone has better suggestions, please let me know. I will do my best to be with Mochi until her last moments, so please don’t worry too much."

This news comes just five days after Kwon Mina announced her new role as a dermatology consultant, a position she has been eagerly preparing for after obtaining her certification. She had shared her excitement about starting this new chapter in her career in March.

Fans have expressed their sadness over Kwon Mina's situation, but she has found strength in their support. On January 20, she mentioned, "I just can’t find the courage for euthanasia; it breaks my heart, so I will continue treatment for as long as Mochi can endure. I want to be with her, even if it’s just for a little while longer. Thank you for your concern."

Kwon Mina debuted with AOA in 2012 and left the group in 2019, claiming she faced bullying from other members during her time in the group.
