Foreign Worker Dies from Heat-Related Illness While Weeding in Pohang

A foreign man in his 40s tragically passed away after collapsing while performing weeding work in Pohang, South Korea, amid a heatwave warning. According to the Gyeongbuk Fire Department, the incident occurred on July 24 at around 12:23 PM in a mountainous area of northern Pohang. The man, identified as A, a Nepalese national, was reported to have shown signs of convulsions and had no pulse when emergency responders arrived. He had been working with a group since 6 AM that day. The heatwave warning in the Pohang area had been in effect since July 22. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of death, although symptoms consistent with heat-related illness were observed.
