Fire at Accommodation Facility in Hwaseong, One Person in Cardiac Arrest

A fire broke out at a four-story accommodation facility in Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 10:08 PM on November 25. The blaze was extinguished within 40 minutes. Eighteen individuals were injured, including three who sustained serious injuries and fifteen with minor injuries, all of whom were transported to nearby hospitals. Among the seriously injured, one person was found in cardiac arrest but has since regained spontaneous circulation and is receiving treatment at the hospital. The facility has a total of 25 rooms, with 16 of them occupied at the time of the incident.

Fire authorities, responding to the emergency call, declared a Level 2 response about ten minutes after the fire started. They deployed 37 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, and 92 personnel, successfully bringing the fire under control by 10:47 PM.

The police and fire department plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once the extinguishing operations are completed.
