Father Arrested for Assaulting Bully at School, Teacher Injured

A father in his 30s was arrested for assaulting a student at a middle school in Changwon after claiming that the student had been bullying his son. The incident occurred on June 24, 2025, when the father, identified as A (37), entered the school's gymnasium without permission and attempted to drag out the first-year student, B. During the altercation, a female teacher who tried to intervene sustained injuries and was diagnosed with a three-week recovery period. Fortunately, B was not seriously harmed. A had previously reported the bullying to the school but felt that no adequate action was taken, prompting him to confront the student directly. The police are currently investigating the incident and interviewing witnesses. Meanwhile, the Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education is providing guidance on reporting procedures for the injured teacher and the bullying incident, as well as offering psychological support to students who witnessed the event.
