Family of Late Kim Sae-ron Releases KakaoTalk Messages with Kim Soo-hyun

The family of the late Kim Sae-ron, who passed away in February, has disclosed KakaoTalk messages exchanged between her and actor Kim Soo-hyun when she was a minor in 2016. The messages include affectionate remarks from Kim Soo-hyun, such as 'You're so cute' and playful exchanges about meeting up.

During a press conference held on March 27 at Space Share in Seocho-gu, Seoul, attorney Bu Ji-seok, representing Kim Sae-ron's family, revealed these messages. In one instance, Kim Soo-hyun commented on a photo of Kim Sae-ron eating bread, saying, 'Ah, you're really too cute.' When Kim Sae-ron mentioned she would finish filming and come over, he replied, 'Come back soon ㅎㅎ♥' and joked about a playful kiss.

On June 26, 2016, Kim Sae-ron expressed her feelings, asking, 'Do you miss me or not?' to which Kim Soo-hyun responded, 'How could I not miss you? You're so cute for asking that.' He further added, 'When can I hold you and fall asleep? I think I would sleep really well then,' to which she replied, 'Okay, I’ll allow that.'

The family also shared Facebook messages between Kim Sae-ron and a friend, revealing her distress after receiving a legal notice from her agency. In one message, she expressed feelings of hopelessness, saying, 'I have nothing, so is this just telling me to commit suicide?' Her friend reacted in disbelief at the financial demands from the agency.

Bu Ji-seok stated that after receiving the legal notice, Kim Sae-ron attempted to reach out to Kim Soo-hyun with a handwritten letter but was unable to meet him. He also revealed that she suffered from severe anxiety and self-harmed, showing photos of her wrist injuries taken on April 13 of the previous year.

Addressing criticisms regarding Kim Sae-ron's relationship with her mother, Bu emphasized that there is ample evidence of their good relationship, countering claims of estrangement. He noted that her mother had been a supportive figure throughout her life.

In response to comments made by Kim Sae-ron's ex-boyfriend, who suggested that her death was not related to Kim Soo-hyun, Bu questioned the motives behind such statements, asserting that no parent would ignore their child in distress. He warned that legal action would be taken against anyone making unfounded claims.
