Chanyeol of EXO has teamed up with renowned Chinese artist Ou Yang Nana for a unique collaboration. On December 14, it was announced that the duo will participate in the STARNATION project on Douyin, a popular short video platform in China, where they will remake the Chinese version of EXO's song 'Baby Don’t Cry'.

Launched in 2018, the STARNATION project aims to showcase music-related content through collaborations with various artists. The partnership between Chanyeol, a leading figure in K-pop, and Ou Yang Nana, known as the 'cello fairy', has garnered significant attention due to their popularity in China.

The new version of 'Baby Don’t Cry' will be available on various music platforms starting December 15 at 1 AM KST. Additionally, a series of short-form content related to the song will be released sequentially on Chanyeol's official Douyin account.

This remake features a reimagined arrangement of the original track from EXO's debut album, incorporating deep bass and string sounds that evoke a wintery atmosphere. Chanyeol's smooth low tones blend beautifully with Ou Yang Nana's vibrant vocals.

Currently on his first live tour, Chanyeol will conclude his performances in Hong Kong on December 21-22 and in Kaohsiung on December 28. He is set to hold the '2025 CHANYEOL LIVE TOUR: 都市風景 (City-scape), Epilogue' at the KBS Arena in Seoul on February 15-16, 2025.

Known for her role as Mi-dal in the hit series 'Soonpoong Clinic' (순풍산부인과), Kim revealed that her father lost all the money she earned as a child star. 

Debuting in 1998, Kim enjoyed a successful career for a few years, stating, 'I worked intensely for a short period, doing many commercials and living comfortably at home.' After the conclusion of 'Soonpoong Clinic,' she experienced significant stress and fatigue, prompting her parents to send her to New Zealand for studies, where she was able to rest and learn. 

However, after three years, she had to return home abruptly due to her family's dire financial situation. 'My father must have endured a lot until the end. The family circumstances were so bad that we couldn't hold on any longer. Although the business was doing well, my father fell victim to fraud,' she shared, expressing her sorrow as she recalled arriving in Incheon to find her family had moved from a nice home to a semi-basement apartment. 

Kim noted the emotional toll this took on her parents, who seemed to be struggling with feelings of loss and depression. 'I realized this was our reality. I started cleaning the house that day, throwing away unnecessary things and organizing everything while they slept. I wanted to live earnestly,' she said. 

During high school, she took on various part-time jobs, even stepping in to help her mother when she worked as a housekeeper. 'I think I have a strong survival instinct. I’m not sure if it’s because I witnessed my family’s downfall, but I’ve always tried to persevere,' she reflected. 

Kim eventually enrolled in college, but tragically, her father passed away the same year. 'After he passed, it became difficult to manage tuition fees, so I took a break from school and worked various jobs throughout my twenties,' she explained. 

In 2018, she returned to acting, performing in plays in Daehangno and regional theaters, where she met her now-husband during a casual gathering. Kim's story is a testament to resilience and the challenges faced by many in the entertainment industry.

Actor Cha Ji-hyuk has officially joined the cast of the upcoming drama '신병3' (Military Prosecutor Doberman). On December 11, his agency, Management Run, announced his casting in the series. 

Based on the immensely popular animated series, '신병' (directed by Min Jin-ki and Jo Je-wook, written by Yoon Gi-young and Kang Go-eun, and produced by KT Studio Genie and A2Z Entertainment), the show is a hyper-realistic military comedy that follows the story of a rookie soldier entering a world filled with various characters, from the good to the bad and the bizarre.

The first two seasons were well-received for their blend of humor and relatable storytelling, establishing '신병' as a legendary title in K-content. In the third season, viewers can expect to see the new military life of Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho), who is now advancing towards the rank of Corporal.

In '신병3', Cha Ji-hyuk will portray the character Kim Tae-hee, known for his impressive physique and striking visuals, complemented by a deep voice. His ability to embody the character has already captivated the production team.

Cha expressed his excitement about joining the series, stating, "Having enjoyed both Season 1 and 2 immensely, it feels like a dream to be part of this project. I am completely immersed in the character of Tae-hee and will do my best to portray him until the end of the series."

Cha Ji-hyuk recently gained attention for his role as the youngest detective Min-jae in the film '짐승' (Beast) and has been active in dramas such as '이브' (Eve), '홍천기' (Hong Chun-ki), and '써치' (Search). Fans are eager to see how he will transform in '신병3'.

They noted that the only constitutional method to halt Yoon's presidential duties, a motion for impeachment by the National Assembly, was ultimately discarded due to the absence of votes from the People’s Power Party members.

The filmmakers had previously warned the party members in a statement on December 5, urging them to choose between being remembered as supporters of insurrection or as politicians prioritizing the safety and lives of the people. They expressed disappointment that the party members collectively left the assembly, disregarding their constitutional duty to act in the national interest, thus opting to protect Yoon.

The filmmakers, alongside many citizens, observed the failed vote with heavy hearts, hoping that the People’s Power Party would eventually heed the people's will and participate in the vote. However, they lamented that such a cinematic resolution did not materialize. They reiterated that the citizens have not delegated presidential power to Han Duck-soo, Han Dong-hoon, or the People’s Power Party. They condemned the rationale for abstaining from the impeachment vote as an attempt to privatize power, labeling it a second insurrection. They urged the party members to fulfill their constitutional roles and clearly state their positions regarding Yoon, who is currently committing insurrection, and to participate in the vote without hesitation if they deem the state of emergency unconstitutional.

This second statement was compiled from December 9 to 12 and included contributions from 80 film organizations and 6,388 individual filmmakers. Notable signatories include directors such as Kang Yu-jung, Kim Bo-ra, and Bong Man-dae, among many others.
