Eun Ga-eun Faces Contract Termination Ahead of Wedding with Park Hyun-ho

K-pop artist Eun Ga-eun has received shocking news just before her upcoming wedding. She has reportedly notified her agency of her intention to terminate her exclusive contract. In response, her agency, TSM Entertainment, has denied the allegations, claiming that they have actually overpaid her settlement amounts.

On November 28, TSM Entertainment released an official statement addressing the contract termination. They stated, "As of today, we have not received any termination notice or legal documents regarding Eun Ga-eun's contract. We learned about the termination through media reports."

The agency further clarified, "Regarding the claims of unpaid settlement amounts, we confirm that we have not underpaid her in any way. Recent audits revealed that we have, in fact, overpaid her. Whenever Eun Ga-eun requested loans or additional funds, we have provided them diligently. In February 2024, we mutually confirmed in writing that there were no violations of contractual obligations, including settlement matters. Since then, we have consistently paid her settlement amounts without any omissions."

Additionally, TSM Entertainment mentioned that they have provided Eun Ga-eun with detailed settlement records every month. They emphasized that the claim that they failed to provide requested documentation is completely false. "We have never changed our statements or shown any negligence in our duties. We have reviewed all relevant facts and materials with our legal advisor, Lee Young-wook, confirming that we have faithfully adhered to the contract."

The agency also noted that they extended Eun Ga-eun's contract until June 2028 by mutual agreement in February 2024, and they agreed to gradually increase her revenue share. They expressed hope that similar incidents of tampering, where outside parties interfere with contracts before they expire, do not occur again in the entertainment industry.

Tampering refers to the act of contacting an artist who is not yet a free agent, violating the terms of their existing contract.

Eun Ga-eun is set to marry fellow trot singer Park Hyun-ho, who is five years her junior, on April 12, 2025. The news of this agency dispute has cast a shadow over what should be a joyous occasion.

According to initial reports, Eun Ga-eun has experienced financial and emotional distress due to her agency's inconsistent statements and delays in settlement payments. Her lawyer stated, "There are still inappropriate practices where agencies take advantage of artists' lack of information and experience to impose unfair contracts or withhold settlement payments. We will take all necessary legal actions to rectify this situation."
