ENHYPEN Sparks Anticipation for Mini Album with 'DESIRE Concept Cinema'

On May 11, 2025, ENHYPEN heightened excitement for their upcoming mini album, 'DESIRE: UNLEASH', with the premiere of 'DESIRE Concept Cinema' at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The event featured a discussion with the members of ENHYPEN and director Park Min-soo, who shared insights about the film.

'VEHICLE Concept Cinema' is a short film that visualizes the concept of their mini album. ENHYPEN held the premiere event a day before the film's official release, allowing fans to experience it first.

Director Park Min-soo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with ENHYPEN, stating, "I was excited to explore the vampire concept, focusing on both the desire and human aspects of vampires. In today's landscape filled with music videos, it was refreshing to create a longer short film." He added that the success of the project would be measured by the satisfaction of both the fans and the group.

The film revolves around the theme of vampire desire, featuring three types of vampires: one that craves blood, another that suppresses its instincts to find humanity, and a talk show vampire caught in between. Park aimed to portray the conflicts of these characters in an engaging manner.

Jungwon reflected on the experience of creating the 'DESIRE Concept Cinema' following their previous album, 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD', noting the detailed guidance from the director and the acting coach, which greatly aided their performance.

He shared, "Experience is the greatest teacher. In real life, we can't bite people, but through this project, I learned how to express emotions and understand how my actions translate on screen."

Heeseung discussed the connection between the upcoming mini album and the concept cinema, emphasizing that desire is a central theme. He hopes fans will appreciate the depth of this connection, particularly with the story's monster symbolizing desire.

Sunghoon noted the evolution from expressing love in their previous album to exploring desire in this one, highlighting a more mature portrayal.

When asked about inspirations for their performances, Jay mentioned drawing from 'The Talk Show with the Devil' and the character from the 'Lucifer' series, which helped him shape his character's persona.

Jake added that filming felt different from music videos, requiring a deeper immersion, and he appreciated the support from the director and staff. He expressed pride in every scene, stating that each moment in the short film holds significance.

The members shared their thoughts on keywords representing the concept cinema: Niki mentioned "complicated love," Sunghoon said "possessiveness," and Jake highlighted "desire" as a central theme of the album. Heeseung described the feeling of "tingling anticipation" while Jay spoke about the theme of change.

This mini album marks ENHYPEN's first release following their successful performance at Coachella. Jake revealed that they completed the album before the festival and felt that the positive reception at Coachella would lead to increased interest in their upcoming music.

As they prepare for their comeback, the members expressed their eagerness for fans to experience the album, with Niki urging fans to wait a little longer until June 5. Heeseung promised that the album is filled with exciting content that fans will enjoy.

Jake concluded by expressing his excitement about reconnecting with fans in Korea and assured them that the new album is of high quality, encouraging everyone to look forward to it. Sunghoon and Jungwon echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the hard work put into the project and their anticipation for the fans' reactions.
