ENA's 'My Child's Private Life' Strengthens Weekend Lineup with New Cast and Exciting Adventures

ENA is set to enhance its weekend entertainment offerings with the return of 'My Child's Private Life' (내 아이의 사생활), featuring beloved child stars like Yeonwoo and Hayoung from 'Dodo Siblings', as well as the popular Song Jia from 'Dad, Where Are We Going?' and newcomer Park Doah. The show aims to capture the hearts of viewers by showcasing the unique charms of both returning and new cast members.

On March 18, a press conference was held at ENA's headquarters in Sangam-dong, Seoul, where producers Kang Bong-kyu, Yoo Chang-seop, and writer Baek Soon-young discussed the upcoming episodes. 'My Child's Private Life' offers a glimpse into the private lives of children as they embark on their first challenges away from their parents.

The show gained significant popularity last year, featuring various adventures such as the Dodo siblings' trip to the U.S., the Love You couple's journey to Hong Kong, and language prodigy Baby Taehwa's first errand.

After a brief hiatus, the show is returning not in a traditional seasonal format but rather in a continuous format that reflects the children's growth. Producer Yoo Chang-seop emphasized the importance of naturally capturing the children's development, stating that the show will continue from episode 13.

Filming for the new episodes began in December 2024, with notable changes in the casting process. Producer Kang Bong-kyu mentioned that some parents expressed interest in having their children appear on the show after watching it. Notably, actor Jung Woong-in's three daughters, the 'Sam-yoon' trio (Seyoon, Soyoon, Dayoon), have confirmed their participation and recently traveled to Japan.

This season will showcase the evolving dynamics of the existing cast alongside new participants, creating a richer viewing experience. The Dodo siblings will now face challenges in Vietnam, moving from their previous U.S. adventure. Writer Baek Soon-young expressed excitement about the children's growth as they navigate communication barriers in a non-English-speaking environment.

Additionally, Love You couple Sarang and Yuto will take on new challenges, including a photoshoot in Korea after their Hong Kong trip. Taehwa, who gained popularity last season, will showcase his 'oppa' side as he welcomes a new sibling. Newcomer Park Doah has already impressed the production team and hosts with her unique dialect.

Song Jia has also garnered attention for her maturity and dedication, earning her the nickname 'Song Jiakbari'. Writer Baek noted that Jia's depth of character has even prompted the production team to reflect on their own perspectives.

In a strategic move, ENA has shifted the airing of 'My Child's Private Life' from Saturday to Sunday, aiming to strengthen its weekend programming. Producer Yoo Chang-seop believes that Sunday evenings are prime time for family viewing, aligning well with the show's concept.

Currently, ENA's weekend lineup features 'Jigu Mabul' on Saturdays and 'My Child's Private Life' on Sunday evenings, marking a significant entry into the weekend entertainment competition. Producer Kang acknowledged the challenges of the schedule change but expressed confidence in their efforts.

The production team is also reaching out to potential new child participants, with writer Baek expressing interest in casting Hong Jin-kyung's daughter and Yoon Sang's second son. Producer Kang shared his hopes for the 'Samdung' triplets (Daehan, Minguk, Manse) to join the show, suggesting that their presence alone could entertain viewers for half an hour.

With ENA's commitment to establishing 'My Child's Private Life' as a flagship family program, the upcoming ratings and viewer engagement will be crucial. The show has already attracted a younger audience through its strong YouTube presence, raising anticipation for its future as a representative family entertainment show for ENA.

The new episode of 'My Child's Private Life' is set to air on March 23 at 7:50 PM.
