Emotional Vocalist More Releases Collaboration Track Ahead of 'When Summer Passes' Premiere
Emotional vocalist More (모어) is set to release a collaboration track titled 'I Need Comfort' (위로가 필요한 나에게) in conjunction with the upcoming film 'When Summer Passes' (여름이 지나가면), which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9. The music production company Donuts Culture announced that the track will be available on all major music platforms today, July 6, at 6 PM.
'When Summer Passes' marks the feature film debut of emerging independent director Jang Byeong-ki. The story follows Gi-jun (이재준), who moves to a small town under the watchful eye of his overly concerned parents, and the neighborhood troublemaker brothers, Young-mun (최현진) and Young-jun (최우록). Their lives intersect one summer day when a pair of stolen sneakers leads them to confront each other's worlds. The film has already garnered attention at major domestic film festivals, winning awards at the 2024 Seoul Independent Film Festival and receiving an official invitation to the Jeonju International Film Festival.
The collaboration track 'I Need Comfort' is a reinterpretation of the beloved ballad of the same name, originally performed by 2NB and by me, now infused with More's warm vocals. With a blend of simplicity and delicate expression, More offers solace to anxious youth while singing about the hope of brighter days ahead. Notably, 'I Need Comfort' resonates deeply with the nuanced emotions experienced by the children in the film, enhancing the synergy between the music and the narrative.
