Emotional Revelations on 'Dad and Me' as Jung Myung-ho Remembers Late Mother Kim Soo-mi

In the latest episode of TV Chosun's variety show 'Dad and Me' (아빠하고 나하고), Jung Myung-ho, the son of the late actress Kim Soo-mi, expressed his deep longing for his mother. The episode, which aired on March 25, also featured a preview of actress Park Han-byul's appearance, where her father's shocking statements left viewers in disbelief.

Kim Soo-mi, who passed away unexpectedly in October last year at the age of 75, was a beloved figure in Korean entertainment, often referred to as the 'Nation's Mother.' She gained fame for her role as 'Il-yong Eomni' in the drama 'Jeonwon Ilgi' at the age of 31 and was the first supporting actress to win an MBC Acting Award in 1986. Her ability to portray various maternal roles, from a warm-hearted mother to a fierce matriarch, endeared her to audiences for over five decades.

The episode delved into the lives of Kim Soo-mi's family after her passing. Jung Myung-ho shared a newspaper clipping about his past as an ice hockey player and revealed that he has kept letters from his mother, symbolizing cherished moments spent together.

Reflecting on his mother's diary, Jung Myung-ho expressed regret, saying, "I didn't know my mother well enough. I feel a lot of sadness and regret, wishing I could have done better." He became emotional, stating, "I have never forgotten her for even a second. I think about her every day. She missed me too, and I really miss her a lot. I think about her from the moment I wake up."

He confessed his longing, saying, "I just want to be hugged. It's really hard these days. I want to ask for a hug just once."

The preview also highlighted Park Han-byul's return to the screen after a six-year hiatus due to controversies surrounding her husband. In the episode, she expressed her remorse, saying, "I felt a sense of responsibility as a wife due to my husband's issues. It has been hellish, living cut off from the world."

Her father, who supported her through these challenging years, shared his own struggles, revealing, "I didn't want to ask her too much for fear of hurting her. I developed social anxiety and had many extreme thoughts, including jumping off a high mountain." This revelation shocked viewers, and Park Han-byul was seen tearfully acknowledging her father's pain, saying, "I just feel sorry."

The episode was filled with heartfelt moments that resonated deeply with the audience, showcasing the enduring bond between family members even in the face of loss.
