EBS Launches New Documentary 'Youth Chapter 1'

EBS 1TV is set to premiere the documentary 'Youth Chapter 1 – Perhaps Our Story' on the afternoon of the 7th at 2 PM. This program is a collaborative effort between EBS and the Regional Cultural Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

'Youth Chapter 1' aims to provide performance opportunities for young artists and expand cultural enjoyment among the public. It is part of the 'Cultural Day Youth Mic' initiative, which has been running for nine years. The documentary showcases the journey of young artists from various regions as they prepare for their debut showcase, helping them transition into professional artists. The program is designed to offer these young talents a platform for their broadcast debut, allowing them to gain public recognition and build a fanbase.

The first featured artist is singer-songwriter 미지니, who has been active since her debut in 2012 under the motto of being a 'singer who sings for joy.' 미지니 expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "I have been facing challenges while working independently without a management agency, and 'Youth Chapter 1' has given me a precious chance for my broadcast debut." She has been actively promoting her showcase.

In a heartfelt gesture, 미지니 surprised her long-time supporters (known as 달달쓰들) by sharing the news on her social media, posting daily countdown videos. She also revisited her hometown, reflecting on her childhood dreams of becoming a singer, and even performed a surprise show for her parents and local elders to announce her broadcast debut. Notably, her mother had an unexpected reaction to the news, leaving everyone astonished.
