Dr. Oh Eun-young, a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry, has unexpectedly closed her psychiatric clinic. On February 11, the clinic announced on its official website that it ceased operations as of February 10, 2025, expressing gratitude to all who supported them during their time in service. However, they confirmed that the Oh Eun-young Academy (오은영아카데미) in Suwon's Gangnam Pangyo area will continue to operate as usual. The reasons for the clinic's closure have not been disclosed, and attempts to reach the clinic for further information have been unsuccessful. Located in Suwon, the clinic provided a range of services including treatment for anxiety disorders, eating disorders, separation anxiety in children and adolescents, stress counseling, depression, and couple therapy. Dr. Oh Eun-young gained recognition as a 'national mentor' through her appearances on various counseling programs such as MBC's 'Oh Eun-young Report: Marriage Hell' and Channel A's 'Recent Parenting: My Precious Child.'

On February 10, a tragic incident occurred at an elementary school in Daejeon, where a 40-year-old female teacher fatally stabbed an 8-year-old student, identified as A. The father of the deceased student, Mr. B, expressed his belief that the incident was a premeditated crime and called for the school to be held accountable.

After completing a police interview, Mr. B stated, "The teacher, unable to control her anger due to depression, killed an innocent child. We must ensure that no other victims arise from this situation." He revealed that A's phone had a parental monitoring application, allowing him to hear sounds around her phone in real-time. He began searching for his daughter around 4:50 PM and reported hearing various noises, including heavy breathing and the sounds of drawers and zippers, but no voice from A.

Mr. B noted that A was the only child remaining at the school until 4:40 PM, suggesting that the teacher was aware of her solitude. He emphasized that the teacher must have brought the weapon herself, indicating a planned attack.

According to the Daejeon Police Agency, A was found stabbed in the audiovisual room on the second floor of the school around 6 PM. The police also discovered the teacher, identified as C, injured in a storage room. C, who had taken a leave of absence due to depression before returning to work at the end of last year, reportedly confessed to the police, stating, "I wielded the weapon." Authorities are investigating the specific motives behind the murder, suspecting that C harmed herself after the attack on A.

Broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu has decided to take legal action in response to the hate comments and rumors directed at him, particularly regarding allegations of complicity in the suicide of the late Oh Yoo-anna. Previously, Jang was accused of enabling the bullying of Oh Yoo-anna, following revelations from a YouTube channel where Kim Ga-young claimed that Jang had been told by her that Oh was a liar, suggesting he was spreading harmful information. This led to intensified criticism against Jang, prompting him to address the situation on his personal social media on February 5.

In his statement, Jang expressed his distress over the false information circulating about him, stating, "When my name was first mentioned, I was upset because the content was not true. However, I felt that my pain was insignificant compared to the suffering of the deceased and their family, so I chose to remain silent. This silence was interpreted by some netizens as an admission of guilt, leading to an increase in hate comments directed at me and my children."

On February 9, Jang's responses to comments on his recent video from 'Jang Seong-kyu Universe K-universe' became a hot topic in various online communities. In response to severe hate comments, he expressed his feelings of injustice, saying, "I was close to Anna, so please don’t hate me too much."

In a particularly heated exchange, a user threatened him, saying, "If you cover for Kim Ga-young, you’ll really regret it. You know what I mean?" Despite his efforts to clarify the situation, the hate comments continued, leading Jang to issue a second statement on February 11. He revealed that he was encouraged by the family of the deceased to clarify his position, saying, "Originally, I intended to wait until the family found peace before making a statement. However, they felt sorry for me being subjected to secondary harm and urged me to clarify, so I am cautiously posting this. I want to emphasize that I was neither a perpetrator nor a bystander, as I was in contact with the deceased."

He also made it clear that he would take legal action against those who crossed the line towards him and his family.

Oh Yoo-anna, who worked as an MBC weathercaster since 2021, tragically passed away on September 15 of last year. The family has disclosed that she suffered bullying from senior weathercasters, sought psychiatric treatment at over ten facilities, and left behind 17 letters before her passing.

On February 12, IVE's agency confirmed that they sent the wreath to Kim's funeral at the Konyang University Hospital in Daejeon the previous day.

In a media interview, Kim's father shared that her dream was to meet Jang Won-young, a member of IVE. He recalled how Kim had asked for a photo card of Jang as a birthday gift and would stay up late to watch any program featuring her. He expressed a heartfelt request for IVE representatives to send a warm message to his daughter as she embarks on her final journey.

Upon learning of Kim's father's interview, IVE promptly sent a photo card along with the wreath to convey their sympathies.

Meanwhile, the teacher involved, referred to as A, had taken a leave of absence due to mental health issues in early December last year but returned to work less than a month later, presenting a doctor's note stating she was fit to resume her duties. However, on February 6, she exhibited violent behavior by injuring a colleague who was checking on her.

On the day of the incident, February 10, the Daejeon City Office of Education sent an inspector to the school to investigate and recommended that A be separated from the students. Unfortunately, this recommendation was not acted upon. Later that day, A lured Kim out of her classroom and fatally attacked her in an audiovisual room.

After the incident, A inflicted self-harm and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. Authorities plan to arrest her once she recovers to investigate the motives behind her actions, and they are also considering the public disclosure of her personal information.

Kim Ri-eul, the renowned hanbok designer known for her work with BTS (방탄소년단), has tragically passed away at the age of 32. According to reports from Yonhap News on February 12, the Namwon police in Jeollabuk-do received a report of her death at an apartment on February 11 at around 9 PM, and they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her passing.

Kim first gained attention in 2016 when she introduced modern suits made from traditional hanbok fabric. She later established her own hanbok suit brand, Ri-eul. Her designs garnered significant acclaim, particularly when BTS wore her hanbok suits during their performance of the hit song 'IDOL' in 2020. Jang Sung-kyu faced backlash after claims emerged that he had facilitated Oh Yoo-anna's suicide due to his friendship with Kim Ga-young. A YouTube channel, 'Garo-Setro Research Institute,' even accused him of lacking remorse for allegedly sharing Oh's struggles with her seniors. In his defense, Jang stated that he had introduced Oh as a junior to Kim Ga-young, who he believed cared for her. He recounted that after listening to Oh's concerns, he felt his support alone was insufficient and suggested that Kim Ga-young assist her. However, Kim Ga-young cited work-related issues that made it difficult for her to help.

Jang emphasized that he never conveyed any negative remarks about Oh to anyone, nor did he engage in conversations that could be construed as harmful. He expressed regret for not taking more proactive measures at the time, believing that Oh was handling her challenges with resilience. 

He reiterated that he was not a perpetrator or bystander, as they had exchanged friendly messages, including recommendations for restaurants shortly before her passing. Jang concluded his statement by offering condolences to Oh's family and pledging to take legal action against anyone who crosses boundaries with him or his family.
