‘Dokbakz’ Heads to Taupo, New Zealand's Largest Lake and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Filming Location

The popular show ‘Dokbakz’ is set to explore Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake and a renowned filming location for ‘The Lord of the Rings’. In the upcoming episode of ‘Nidonnaesan Dokbak Tour 3’, airing on May 24, cast members Kim Dae-hee, Kim Jun-ho, Jang Dong-min, Yoo Se-yoon, and Hong In-kyu will travel from Lake Rotorua to the heart of New Zealand's North Island, Taupo.
After enjoying lunch in Rotorua, the group will board a camper van to their next destination, Taupo. During the ride, Yoo Se-yoon shares, “We’re heading to Taupo, which is home to the largest lake in New Zealand and also a filming site for ‘The Lord of the Rings’.” The cast responds with excitement, and Kim Jun-ho chimes in, “Traveling is all about music!” He then requests Yoo Se-yoon to play the song ‘Sae-ya’ by the band Baramsae, which Yoo Se-yoon notes is also a favorite of his wife. The atmosphere becomes lively as the cast joins in for a sing-along.
Upon arriving in Taupo, the group checks into a luxurious lodge that Kim Jun-ho had previously booked. Hong In-kyu is taken aback by the opulent setting, expressing concern over the cost, which is approximately 680,000 KRW per night for a two-bedroom unit with a lake view. Shortly after, Yoo Se-yoon introduces a trending game on social media called the ‘Reaction Game’, explaining its rules. The cast eagerly participates, but Kim Jun-ho struggles with the game, exclaiming in frustration, “I’m angry at myself for not getting this right!” Meanwhile, Jang Dong-min, known for his sharp wit, quickly grasps the prompts, raising the tension among the members.
