Disney+ Showcases Exciting K-Content at 2024 Content Showcase

From November 20 to 21, 2024, the Walt Disney Company (디즈니) is hosting the 'Disney Content Showcase 2024' at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, featuring top global stars from the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region. Notable Korean actors such as Ryu Seung-ryong (류승룡), Kim Soo-hyun (김수현), Ju Ji-hoon (주지훈), and Park Eun-bin (박은빈) are set to meet with the press on this international stage.
On the first day of the event, Disney and its subsidiaries, including 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios, presented their upcoming theatrical releases and streaming content, showcasing their renowned creativity and compelling storytelling.
During the presentation, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made a surprise appearance, and Anthony Mackie, the lead actor of 'Captain America: Brave New World', took the stage to further energize the audience.
Disney also unveiled exclusive previews and behind-the-scenes footage of highly anticipated releases, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees. Highlights included soundtracks from 'Mufasa: The Lion King', 'Snow White', and 'Moana 2', as well as trailers for 'Tron: Ares', 'Zootopia 2', Pixar's 'Hoppers', Lucasfilm's 'The Mandalorian and Grogu', Marvel Television's 'Daredevil: Born Again', and Marvel Studios' 'Fantastic Four: A New Beginning'.
Luke Kang, President of Walt Disney Company APAC, emphasized the company's commitment to exceptional creativity and storytelling, stating, "Disney connects with consumers in unique ways, delivering joy through our diverse offerings across film, TV, and streaming. Our global and local productions continue to showcase strong storytelling that resonates with audiences of all ages. From Disney+ to movies, games, merchandise, books, performances, music, and theme parks, we create unforgettable moments that transcend generations."
Kang also highlighted the success of Korean and Japanese content, noting that 'Shogun' achieved significant acclaim, winning 19 awards, while 'The Bear' garnered 11 awards. He expressed excitement for the next two days, promising a journey through the best Disney stories and possibilities, including the Oceania release of 'Moana 2' and the upcoming 'Avatar: The Way of Water'.
He further mentioned that titles like 'Moving', 'Casino', 'The Worst Evil', and 'Killer Shopping Mall' have not only won accolades at the Blue Dragon Series Awards and Baeksang Arts Awards but have also resonated internationally. Kang remarked, "'Moving', 'Casino', 'Gannibal', 'The Worst Evil', and 'Killer Shopping Mall' have achieved great success on Disney+, proving our dedication. With the global reach of BTS (방탄소년단) and 'Tokyo Revengers', we believe this commitment will yield even greater results as we enter our fourth year, solidifying our presence in the APAC region."
Following the showcase, a fan event titled 'Disney Presents: A Night Of Stars' will take place, offering fans in the Asia-Pacific region a unique opportunity to meet the cast and experience Disney stories firsthand. Notable attendees will include Anthony Mackie from 'Captain America: Brave New World', Ju Ji-hoon and Park Bo-young from Disney+ original content 'Lighting Store' (조명가게), Kim Hye-soo and Jung Sung-il from 'Trigger', Park Eun-bin and Seol Kyung-gu from 'Hyperknife', Kim Soo-hyun and Jo Bo-ah from 'Knock Off', Kim Da-mi and Son Seok-gu from 'Nine Puzzle', and Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, and Lim Soo-jung from 'Fine: Country Bumpkins'. The event will also feature Yagira Yuya and Kasamatsu Sho from the popular Disney+ Japanese original series 'Gannibal' (간니발).
The 'Disney Content Showcase 2024' will continue on November 21, unveiling Disney General Entertainment's lineup along with original content from Korea and Japan, maintaining the event's momentum.
