Director Na Hong-jin's New Film 'HOPE' Set for Summer 2026 Release

Director Na Hong-jin's upcoming film 'HOPE' (호프) is officially scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2026. The film features a unique blend of talent from both Korea and Hollywood, showcased in a newly released special casting photo.
'HOPE' (written and directed by Na Hong-jin, produced by Forged Films, distributed by Plus M Entertainment) tells the story of 'Beom-seok', the head of a local police station in the demilitarized zone, who learns from local youths about a tiger sighting, leading the entire village into a state of alarm as they confront this unbelievable reality.
Renowned for his meticulous storytelling and striking visuals, Na Hong-jin returns with 'HOPE' after captivating audiences and critics alike with his previous works. Known for pushing the boundaries of Korean cinema, he promises an unforgettable cinematic experience filled with excitement through this long-awaited project.
The newly unveiled special casting photo highlights the impressive presence and synergy of the cast. Veteran actor Hwang Jung-min (황정민), known for his unforgettable roles, reunites with Na Hong-jin in 'HOPE', taking on the role of 'Beom-seok' with intense immersion. Jo In-sung (조인성), who portrays the village youth 'Seong-ki' chasing after the creature that attacked their community, delivers a raw and dynamic performance. Rising star Jung Ho-yeon (정호연), who has captured global audiences with her unique energy, makes a powerful screen debut as 'Seong-ae', a police officer with her own strong principles.
Joining the cast are Hollywood actors who will portray alien characters, promising to leave a lasting impression on viewers. Michael Fassbender, known for his roles in the 'X-Men' series, '12 Years a Slave', and 'Alien: Covenant', along with Alicia Vikander, an Academy Award-winning actress from 'The Danish Girl' and known for her work in 'Jason Bourne' and 'Tomb Raider', are set to collaborate with Na Hong-jin, sparking curiosity about their on-screen chemistry. Additionally, Taylor Russell, who won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the Venice Film Festival for 'Bones and All', and Cameron Britton, recognized for his portrayal of a notorious serial killer in the Netflix series 'Mindhunter', complete the powerful global cast of 'HOPE'.
