The 11th Korean Film Producers Association Awards took place on December 17, 2024, at Indie Space in Donggyo-dong, Seoul, hosted by actress Kim Gyu-ri. Director Kim Sung-soo of the film 'Seoul's Spring' won both the Best Director and Best Film awards.

In his acceptance speech, Kim expressed his initial anxieties about the film's release, especially given the significant budget incurred during the pandemic. He shared, "I was worried about whether we would break even, but a miracle happened. So many people came to see it, and I was happy. However, I also wondered why so many were watching it and why young people were particularly interested."

He continued with a poignant reflection on recent political events, stating, "On December 3, a reckless president staged an absurd coup, prompting citizens to rush to the National Assembly. After the impeachment was rejected, young people took to the streets in support of it. Seeing this made me realize why our film resonated with so many viewers. Today's youth possess a strong sense of justice and conviction."

Kim concluded by emphasizing the responsibility of filmmakers in this new era, stating, "As a director, I worry about what messages I should convey to such an incredible audience and how to communicate differently than before. At the same time, I feel excited as a storyteller in this new age. I will work hard to create a film that meets expectations."

Jo Jung-seok, who received the Best Actor award, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I was surprised by the video prepared for the Best Actor award. Thank you so much. I felt good to repay the 'Pilot' team, who didn’t even get nominated at other award shows, even though I was okay with it."

He added, "Being here today has made me realize a lot. I feel proud and reassured knowing there are many producers working hard for the advancement of Korean cinema and popular culture. Meeting great producers is a huge blessing, and I’m grateful to see familiar faces from 12 years ago. Thank you to everyone who made great films."

Ji Chang-wook, who won Best Supporting Actor for 'Revolver,' humbly stated, "I feel so embarrassed. Receiving an acting award is a bit overwhelming. However, seeing myself rushing here made me feel really good. I appreciate the kind compliments, even if they make me shy. I was very happy and enjoyed filming 'Revolver' thanks to the director and the team. I will work hard, so please keep watching me."

Yim Hye-ran, who won Best Supporting Actress for 'Citizen Deok-hee,' expressed her gratitude to the director and staff, saying, "I want to thank everyone who worked on 'Citizen Deok-hee.' My performance may have been lacking, but it was rewarding. I feel happy to have contributed, even a little, to how much film can change the world. This award is meaningful as it comes from those who produce great films. I will do my best to show even better acting in the future. Thank you for this award."

The Best New Actor award went to Noh Sang-hyun for 'The Law of Love in Big Cities.' He shared, "We filmed last summer, and it was a fun experience. The director and staff created an environment where we could play freely. I’m grateful to everyone who worked with me. This is a once-in-a-lifetime award, and I appreciate it. It feels like I’ve been recognized, and it’s a great comfort. I will continue to work hard to become a good actor. Thank you!"
