Director Kang Yoon-sung Expresses Confidence in Yunho's Acting Skills

Director Kang Yoon-sung has expressed his strong belief in Yunho, a member of the iconic K-pop group TVXQ (동방신기), showcasing his confidence in the singer's acting abilities. During the 'Disney Content Showcase 2024' held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore on November 21, Kang, along with actors Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, and Lim Soo-jung, introduced their upcoming film 'Pine: The Villains' (파인: 촌뜨기들). The film, which is set to be released next year, follows a group of determined villains seeking treasure from a sunken ship. The cast includes Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, Lim Soo-jung, Kim Ui-sung, and Kim Sung-oh, who dive into the ocean in search of hidden artifacts.

Kang Yoon-sung shared his initial doubts about Yunho's acting when they first met through a mutual acquaintance. However, he noted significant growth in Yunho's performance throughout the production process. "I believe that once 'Pine' is released, audiences will recognize Yunho not just as a singer from TVXQ but as a genuine actor," Kang stated confidently.

The Walt Disney Company (디즈니) hosted the 'Disney Content Showcase 2024' on November 20-21 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, featuring top global stars from the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region. The event allowed attendees to preview theatrical releases and streaming projects scheduled for 2025-2026. Over 400 journalists from 12 countries, including South Korea and Japan, attended the showcase.

On the first day, Disney and its subsidiaries, including 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios, presented their impressive lineups of theatrical and streaming content, highlighting their exceptional creativity and storytelling prowess. The second day focused on the lineups from South Korea, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region, drawing significant interest.
