DAY6 Makes History as First K-Pop Band to Perform at Gocheok Sky Dome
On December 20 and 21, DAY6 (데이식스) will make history as the first K-Pop band to hold a concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Their special concert, titled '2024 DAY6 Special Concert 'The Present'' (2024 데이식스 스페셜 콘서트 '더 프레젠트'), marks a significant milestone as it is the first performance by a domestic band at this venue and follows their Christmas concert 'DAY6 Christmas Special Concert 'The Present: You are My Day'' (크리스마스 스페셜 콘서트 '더 프레젠트: 유 아 마이 데이') held in December 2023.
In 2024, DAY6 has achieved numerous records with their self-composed music, solidifying the year as 'The Year of DAY6.' After a hiatus, they returned in March with the album 'Fourever' (포에버), celebrating eternity with their fans, known as My Day (마이데이). In September, they released the mini-album 'Band Aid' (밴드 에이드), which provided comfort and strength to listeners. The title track '녹아내려요' topped the Melon Top 100 chart, achieving a career high, while the album track 'HAPPY' (해피) also gained popularity, demonstrating DAY6's strong presence in the music scene.
This year, DAY6 has showcased their ticketing power by selling out three major venues in South Korea. They successfully held a concert at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in April, which featured a 360-degree stage setup, and kicked off their third world tour 'DAY6 3RD WORLD TOUR' (포에버 영) at the Inspire Arena in Incheon in September. The upcoming special concert at Gocheok Sky Dome promises to be an unforgettable year-end celebration for fans, with approximately 38,000 seats sold out.
As a group celebrating their 10th anniversary, DAY6's entry into Gocheok Sky Dome is a significant achievement. Known for their unique visual presentations, instrumental performances, and live skills, they are set to deliver an expanded scale of their artistry at this venue. From their debut in 2015 with small theater concerts to performing at South Korea's largest indoor venue, the anticipation for the musical journey of Sungjin, Young K (영케이), Wonpil, and Dowoon is high.
DAY6 is also successfully resuming their third world tour after a hiatus of nearly four years and eight months. Their concerts in various cities, including Incheon, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Surabaya, Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, and upcoming shows in Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and New York, have all sold out. Additional dates and expanded venues are being added, with performances scheduled for Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo, Manila, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and more in 2025.
