Daejeon's '꿈돌이 Ramen' Hits 200,000 Sales in Just One Week
Daejeon City announced on June 16 that its newly launched '꿈돌이 Ramen' has achieved impressive sales of 200,000 units within just a week of its debut on June 9. This ramen product features the beloved local character, the 꿈씨 Family, and aims to attract more tourists and stimulate the local economy.
The '꿈돌이 Ramen' comes in two flavors: beef and seafood jjambbong. Each package showcases the charming characters from the 꿈씨 Family. To differentiate this product from existing ramen offerings, Daejeon collaborated with a local company that has over 20 years of experience in producing ramen seasoning. The city oversaw the overall planning, while the Daejeon Tourism Organization supported character utilization and marketing efforts.
In addition to the ramen, merchandise such as keychains, pot holders, and enamel pots featuring the 꿈돌이 design have also gained popularity among consumers. The newly opened '꿈돌이 Ramen' shop in Soje-dong, Dong-gu, along with a pop-up exhibition for 꿈돌이 merchandise, has attracted many tourists, leading to an increase in sales of existing 꿈돌이 goods.
City officials attribute the surge in sales to the revival of interest in the 꿈씨 Family and the unique marketing strategy that emphasizes the exclusivity of these products to the local area. A Daejeon representative expressed hopes that '꿈돌이 Ramen' will establish itself as a signature product for the region.
Looking ahead, Daejeon plans to launch a variety of food products featuring the 꿈돌이 design, starting with walnut cakes in July, followed by tteokbokki and makgeolli.
