Controversy Erupts Over Lack of 'Infinite Challenge' Mention at 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards

The 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards, celebrating its 30th anniversary with a retro theme, has sparked controversy due to the complete absence of any mention of 'Infinite Challenge' (무한도전), one of MBC's most iconic variety shows. The event took place on January 28 at the MBC Media Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul, hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, Yoon Eun-hye, and Lee Jang-woo.

To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the awards featured a special concept that included nostalgic references to various past shows. However, despite the inclusion of many beloved programs, 'Infinite Challenge' was notably overlooked. Notable cast members Yoo Jae-suk and Yang Se-hyung were present at the ceremony, but Yoo Jae-suk presented an award alongside Park Kyung-rim for 'Living Together' (동거동락), while Yang Se-hyung co-hosted a segment with Lee Sang-yong.

Given that Andy reminisced about 'We Got Married' (우리 결혼했어요) and 'Nonstop' (논스톱) during his presentation, the omission of 'Infinite Challenge' feels particularly glaring. This year marked its 20th anniversary, celebrated with the release of a special calendar, and its edited episodes continue to garner popularity on MBC's YouTube channel.

The lack of acknowledgment at the awards has led to disappointment among fans, with many expressing their frustration online.
