Controversy Arises Over Explicit Scenes in tvN's 'Wonkyung'

The drama 'Wonkyung' currently airing on tvN and Tving is facing backlash due to its explicit scenes. Allegations have emerged that these scenes were broadcast using CGI (computer-generated imagery) and body doubles without the consent of the actors involved. The first two episodes featured bold exposure from lead actors Cha Joo-young and Lee Yi-dam, sparking debate among viewers. While tvN edited these scenes to fit a 15+ rating, Tving retained the explicit content for its 19+ audience, leading to further controversy. Critics have questioned the necessity of these scenes, arguing that the narrative could be understood without them. Reports suggest that during filming, the actors wore clothing, and the explicit visuals were later created using CGI with a body double. The actors' agencies requested edits, but the production team reportedly refused. Director Kim Sang-ho clarified on January 16 that the script did not explicitly describe these scenes, indicating that the decision to include them was driven by the channel's requirements rather than his directorial intent. As of now, Tving has not responded to requests for clarification on the matter.
