Contentree Central Reports Strong Revenue Growth in Q1 2025

Contentree Central has announced impressive revenue figures driven by successful content releases. For the first quarter of 2025, the company reported consolidated revenues of 225.2 billion KRW, alongside an operating loss of 12.1 billion KRW, as disclosed on May 8.

SLL, another key player, recorded consolidated revenues of 139.7 billion KRW and an operating loss of 4.5 billion KRW for the same period. This marks a significant increase of 35.7% year-on-year and 21% quarter-on-quarter, largely due to a growing share of overseas and new business ventures. International sales reached 74.5 billion KRW, accounting for 56% of total revenue, indicating a robust growth phase for content distribution through global platforms.

In Q1, major titles such as 옥씨부인전 (Lady Oksun), 춘화연애담 (Spring Love Story), and 협상의 기술 (The Art of Negotiation) achieved notable success on both domestic and international platforms like Netflix, Tving, U-NEXT, and Viu. Currently airing is 천국보다 아름다운 (More Beautiful Than Heaven), with upcoming releases including the Netflix original 이 별에 필요한 (What This Star Needs) and the anticipated Disney+ and Prime Video title 굿보이 (Good Boy) set for Q2. Additionally, global original series from the American label wiip, such as Netflix's Undertow Season 1, Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, and HBO's Task, are expected to air in the second half of the year, promising continued improvement in performance through expanded global content supply and diversified profitability.

Beyond drama and film production, SLL is also making strides in music, variety shows, and global markets. In April, they acquired a stake in Studio Slam, enhancing their competitive variety portfolio with shows like 흑백요리사 시즌 2 (Black and White Chef Season 2) and 저스트 메이크업 (Just Makeup). The idol group Close Your Eyes, under the SLL label Uncore, has made a strong debut, selling 310,000 copies of their first album within the first week and topping music charts just six days after their debut.

Furthermore, SLL is actively collaborating with various international production companies for co-productions and remakes, solidifying its position as a global IP powerhouse.
