Comedian Ko Myung-hwan and Author Han Kang Honored with Kyobo Bookstore's 'Author of the Year' Award

In the 11th Kyobo Bookstore Publishing Awards, comedian Ko Myung-hwan (고명환) and acclaimed author Han Kang (한강) have been recognized as 'Authors of the Year'.

The Kyobo Bookstore Publishing Awards is a prestigious event where professionals from various sectors, including the book purchasing team, offline stores, and online MDs, nominate candidates based on their interactions with the publishing industry and customers.

This year, the awards introduced special categories such as 'Content of the Year', 'Author of the Year', and 'Publisher of the Year', expanding to a total of six award categories.

Ko Myung-hwan, known for his self-help bestseller 'Classics Answered: On the Life We Should Live' (고전이 답했다 마땅히 살아야 할 삶에 대하여), and Han Kang, who moved readers with her Nobel Prize-winning work 'The Vegetarian' (채식주의자), were both honored in the 'Author of the Year' category.

The 'Publisher of the Year' award went to Kim Young-sa (김영사), which has published works across various genres, including humanities. The 'Content of the Year' award was claimed by Toss's 'THE MONEY BOOK'.

In the rookie category, promising marketer Yang Ji-hwan (양지환) from Dasan Books (다산북스) was recognized, while Turtle Neck Press (터틀넥프레스) was named the 'Publisher to Watch'.

Notable marketers in the 'Marketer of the Year' category included Park Geon-won (박건원) from Munhakdongne, Seo Ji-hwa (서지화) from Munhakdongne, Oh Hana (오하나) from Sandbox Network, Lee Jin-kyu (이진규) from Page2Books, Choi Won-seok (최원석) from Somi Media, Choi Ji-eun (최지은) from Front Page, and Heo Hwang (허황) from Literature and Intelligence.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 3 at the Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul.
