Comedian Jo Se-ho Apologizes Again for Past PPL Controversy

Comedian Jo Se-ho has once again expressed his apologies regarding a past controversy involving product placement (PPL). During his appearance on the web entertainment show Pingga Go (핑계고) on January 29, he discussed the Lunar New Year with fellow guests Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Dong-wook, and Nam Chang-hee.

On the show, Yoo Jae-suk and Lee Dong-wook teased Jo Se-ho about a cardigan from his brand, asking, "Why don't you give us one of these?" Jo responded, "I would love to give them out, but as the creator, I often wear my own brand. When I wear it, people say I'm just trying to sell it. So, I wore Chanel, and they said I wasn't wearing my own brand but Chanel instead."

Later, when Lee Dong-wook promoted a PPL product, Jo Se-ho brought up his previous PPL controversy. He stated, "It's a blessing when PPL comes into a program. We need to integrate it in a way that viewers can enjoy, but I was clumsy and it fell apart."

Nam Chang-hee chimed in, saying, "I saw it from the side. It didn't blend at all; it was just a lump." Lee Dong-wook then asked, "Why are you talking about this on our channel?" to which Jo replied, "Because not many people watch it, I have to do it where more people will see it." This comment elicited laughter from the group.

Jo Se-ho continued, "I put my heart and soul into blending it for the advertisers, but I overdid it. That's why I'm bravely saying this now. I will do better." Nam Chang-hee encouraged him, saying, "Everything starts with you, so just humbly accept it and do well in the future."

Previously, in July of last year, Jo Se-ho faced backlash after excessively mentioning a specific fashion brand while showcasing his newlywed home on his YouTube channel. Following the criticism from fans, he apologized, stating, "I ask for your continued interest and constructive criticism, and I will do my best to create content that satisfies my subscribers."
