Son Min-soo and Lim Ra-ra Expecting Baby After Infertility Struggles

Comedian couple Son Min-soo (손민수) and Lim Ra-ra (임라라) are set to become parents after publicly sharing their struggles with infertility. On May 11, Lim Ra-ra took to her official social media to announce, "We are expecting a baby!" expressing her disbelief and joy. The post featured a photo of the couple smiling while holding a pregnancy test and baby clothes.

Lim Ra-ra also expressed her concern that their happiness might bring additional heartache to other couples facing infertility, stating, "I understand that feeling all too well, and I will always support and pray for miraculous moments to come to others as well."

The couple began their public relationship in 2014, gaining popularity through their YouTube channel, 'Enjoy Couple' (엔조이커플), where they shared various couple content. Lim Ra-ra had previously declared herself averse to marriage, but she surprised fans by marrying Son Min-soo in 2023 after a decade of dating.

Since their marriage, the couple has continued to engage with fans through YouTube and television, sharing their challenges during the pregnancy journey. They revealed on their channel that they had hoped for a natural conception after marriage, but after six months of trying, they faced difficulties. Lim Ra-ra, who is over 35, was medically classified as having infertility, which caused her significant physical and emotional stress.

In a heartfelt moment, Lim Ra-ra shared, "I couldn't tell anyone how painful the ovulation ultrasounds were or how devastating it felt to experience failure through my menstrual cycle." Son Min-soo admitted that he wasn't the perfect husband during this time, noting that they had intense arguments, the worst in their 12 years together.

The couple decided to pause their work to focus on their relationship and ultimately chose to pursue in vitro fertilization (IVF). This decision helped them restore their relationship and find psychological stability. Lim Ra-ra remarked, "With IVF, I just had to follow the doctor's instructions, which significantly reduced the stress from uncertainty. I hope our joy can be a small beacon of hope for someone else, even if it may feel like a disappointment to others."

After sharing their IVF preparation process multiple times on YouTube, the couple's announcement of their pregnancy has been met with overwhelming support, receiving over 16,000 likes within the first hour of posting. Fans have flooded the announcement with congratulatory messages.
