Comedian Byun Ki-soo Criticizes 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards for Overlooking Comedians

Comedian Byun Ki-soo publicly criticized the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards, questioning the lack of recognition for comedians. On December 21, he remarked, "Can't we at least give an award to one comedian? It seems like only singers are being acknowledged at this entertainment awards show." He shared a screenshot from the awards ceremony showing singers Zico and aespa's Karina receiving the Best New Artist award in the Show Variety category. Byun expressed disappointment that, despite the revival of 'Gag Concert' after three years, no comedian was awarded a newcomer prize at the KBS Entertainment Awards this year. Byun Ki-soo has been active in the entertainment industry since 2005 as a special recruit comedian for KBS, particularly known for his work on KBS 2TV's 'Gag Concert'.
