Com2us Chairman Summoned in Investigation Related to Kim Geon-hee's Exhibition Sponsorship

On July 26, 2025, Song Byeong-jun, the chairman of Com2us Holdings, arrived at the Special Prosecutor's Office in the KT West Building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, at around 9:45 AM. He was summoned as part of the investigation led by Special Prosecutor Min Jung-ki into various allegations surrounding Kim Geon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. The investigation includes claims of favoritism regarding sponsorships for the exhibition company, Kobana Contents.
Song did not respond to questions from reporters about his relationship with Kim Geon-hee or whether he received any requests for sponsorship from her side.
Com2us was one of the companies that sponsored exhibitions organized by Kobana Contents, which Kim Geon-hee managed, contributing a total of 219.5 million won for events such as the 'Mark Rothko Exhibition,' 'Le Corbusier Exhibition,' and 'Alberto Giacometti Exhibition' between June 2015 and April 2019.
During the time Com2us provided sponsorship, former President Yoon was serving as the head of the investigation team for the Park Geun-hye and Choi Soon-sil scandal from December 2016 to February 2017, and later as the Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office from May 2017 to July 2019. While Yoon was in this position, both he and Song faced an investigation for failing to report company stock, but they were cleared of any wrongdoing. This has led to suspicions that Com2us may have sponsored Kobana Contents to influence the prosecution's investigation.
Additionally, on July 25, the Special Prosecutor's team conducted searches at various locations, including Kim Geon-hee's residence in Acro Vista, the Kobana Contents office, and the Com2us Holdings office. The search warrants reportedly named Kim Geon-hee, former President Yoon, and Song Byeong-jun as suspects in a bribery case under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes related to the sponsorship allegations.
