Clone's Gu Jun-yeop Struggles with Grief After Wife's Passing

Gu Jun-yeop, a member of the popular duo Clon, is reportedly struggling to cope with the loss of his wife, Seo Hee-won, who passed away a month ago. Local media, including Taiwan's Yiping News, reported on March 8 that Gu has been unable to eat or drink due to his overwhelming sorrow. Friends who checked on him noted that he expressed gratitude for their concern but stated, 'I need time.' Meanwhile, Seo's brother, Seo Hee-je, is reportedly experiencing severe depression and emotional instability, reflecting the deep pain both siblings are enduring.

In a troubling twist, Seo Hee-won's ex-husband, Wang Su-bi, has been accused of manipulating the situation. He is facing legal action for violating privacy laws after he allegedly shared sensitive information from their divorce settlement, including Seo's bank account details and address. Wang claims that Seo spent over 320 million Taiwanese dollars on real estate and renovations, as well as nearly 50 million Taiwanese dollars on living expenses in the year following their divorce. He also raised infidelity allegations, stating that Seo sent gifts worth over 12 million yuan to Korea just four months before their divorce. This led to Seo filing a lawsuit against him in response to his accusations. A court hearing was scheduled for March 7, but Wang did not attend, citing health issues, and requested the proceedings be held privately due to the sensitive nature of the case.

Friends of Gu Jun-yeop have publicly criticized Wang for his actions. Yiping News previously reported that the couple's shared mansion in Taipei, valued at 460 million Taiwanese dollars, is at risk of foreclosure due to unpaid mortgage payments. If neither Gu nor their two children can cover the monthly payments exceeding 1 million Taiwanese dollars, the bank may seize the property.

Some reports suggest that Gu and Wang have been negotiating through their lawyers, with claims that Gu will take full responsibility for the mortgage payments. However, Gu's friends have dismissed these claims as unfounded. It was also noted that Wang met with his lawyer last week, along with Seo Hee-je's husband’s attorney, indicating that discussions regarding the distribution of Seo's estate are ongoing.

Gu Jun-yeop and Seo Hee-won reunited and married in 2023 after two decades apart. Tragically, Seo passed away from acute pneumonia during a trip to Japan on February 2. Following her death, it was decided that her estate would be divided equally among Gu and their two children. Gu has stated that he will relinquish his rights to his mother-in-law and take legal measures to protect his children's inheritance from any negative influences.

Recently, Gu chose Geumbo Mountain as the burial site for Seo Hee-won, and plans are underway to erect a statue and gravestone in her memory.
