Claims of Late Actress Kim Sae-ron Seeking Shamanic Help Denied by Close Associates

Recent claims have emerged suggesting that the late actress Kim Sae-ron sought shamanic assistance in hopes of returning to acting, but sources close to her have firmly denied these allegations. On April 11, a YouTuber known as A made a statement on their channel, asserting that Kim had undergone a shamanic ritual at a well-known shrine in Seoul last September. A claimed that Kim initially had no intention of participating in such a ritual but was plagued by frequent nightmares and health issues. The YouTuber further stated that Kim's strong desire to return to acting led her to believe that receiving shamanic blessings could facilitate her comeback. According to A, Kim was informed that the initial cost for the ritual would be between 10 to 15 million won, but after the ceremony, she discovered that additional expenses totaling 30 million won were required. Allegedly, Kim attempted to borrow money from friends but was unsuccessful. However, on April 14, a representative for Kim Sae-ron's family refuted A's claims, stating, 'The assertion that Kim received shamanic blessings is false. It is absolutely not true.' The representative clarified that Kim had developed an interest in shamanism after participating in projects related to folk beliefs, and the shaman mentioned was merely an acquaintance. They noted that Kim's interest in this area stemmed from her roles in the 2014 film 'Manshin' and the 2021 series 'The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim.' Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, at the age of 25. Following her passing, her family filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber A for spreading false information, claiming that the content had caused Kim significant psychological distress during her life. They later added charges of stalking against A due to ongoing personal attacks in subsequent videos.
