CJ ENM and Warner Bros. Join Forces for Feature Film Remakes

CJ ENM and Warner Bros. Motion Pictures Group have officially announced a new partnership aimed at co-developing feature film remakes. The two companies plan to collaborate on remakes of films from their respective libraries through joint development, investment, and distribution.

When remaking Warner Bros. films in Korean, CJ ENM will take the lead as the primary studio, while Warner Bros. will assume the lead role for English remakes of CJ ENM's films. This collaboration is expected to yield a variety of projects in both Korean and English, with both companies sharing insights on key creative aspects such as writer and director packaging and casting.

CJ ENM will handle the distribution of its remakes in Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Turkey, while Warner Bros. will manage distribution in all other global markets.

CJ ENM's head of film division, Ko Kyung-beom, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "Warner Bros. is an exceptional partner that has produced legendary films in Hollywood, possessing the expertise to create high-quality hits and effectively deliver them to audiences. It is a great honor and an exciting opportunity to collaborate with them." He added that both companies have built extensive libraries of works across North America and Asia, and this collaboration aims to uncover hidden gems and provide new stories that inspire today's audiences.
