Chungha Returns with New EP 'Alivio' Featuring Dual Title Tracks
Singer Chungha has made her much-anticipated return with a new EP titled 'Alivio' (알리비오), released today (February 12) at 6 PM KST across various online music platforms. The title 'Alivio' translates to 'comfort' and 'relief,' encapsulating Chungha's most intimate emotions and candid stories. The album explores the stress we encounter in daily life, the liberation from it, and the myriad emotions that arise in between, all expressed through a diverse range of musical genres.
The EP features two title tracks: 'STRESS' (스트레스), an upbeat dance track rooted in house music that radiates positive energy and encourages listeners to fully enjoy the present moment, and 'Thanks for the Memories' (땡스 포 더 메모리즈), which delicately unpacks the complex feelings experienced at the end of a romantic relationship, offering empathy and solace to its audience.
In addition to these, the album includes six more tracks: 'Creepin' (크리핀), 'Salty (with 선미)' (솔티), 'Loyal' (로얄), 'Beat of My Heart' (비트 오브 마이 하트), 'Even Steven (Happy Ending)' (이븐 스티븐 (해피 엔딩)), and 'Still A Rose' (스틸 어 로즈), bringing the total to eight tracks.
Chungha contributed to the lyrics of the title track 'STRESS' and other songs, adding a layer of authenticity to the project. Notably, singer Sunmi (선미) features on the track 'Salty,' creating a fantastic musical synergy that enhances the album's overall quality.
The music video released alongside the album has also captured fans' attention. It visually represents hidden desires and suppressed ambitions through scenes of individuals in lockers, while the narrative unfolds in a seemingly tranquil yoga studio where stressed individuals find liberation through Chungha's influence, delivering a refreshing and uplifting storyline.
Chungha plans to engage with her fans through music shows and various content in the coming days.
