Choi Yeo-jin Addresses Infidelity Allegations on 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2'
On the March 31 episode of SBS's reality show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 (동상이몽 시즌2-너는 내 운명), Choi Yeo-jin tearfully clarified allegations of infidelity surrounding her relationship with her fiancé. The controversy arose after it was revealed that her fiancé appeared on the 2020 tvN show On and Off (온앤오프) as part of Choi's 'Gapyeong family.' At that time, he was married and appeared alongside his ex-wife, which led Choi to refer to them as 'father and mother figures,' highlighting their close relationship. Following the announcement of their relationship, Choi faced a barrage of negative comments, with accusations of her having 'stolen' a husband and engaging in an affair.
Choi addressed the misunderstandings, stating, "This is the part I should have thought about more carefully," referring to the shared appearance on the show in 2020. Her fiancé also described the situation as a 'discomforting misunderstanding.' He explained that the couple's matching sunglasses were a team gift, not a sign of a romantic relationship, and emphasized that the idea of them being a couple was unfounded.
Regarding his previous marriage, he shared, "We got married in 2016, but realized we were different six months later. We began living separately in 2017 while still working in the same business." He added that they chose not to inform their families about the divorce to avoid causing them distress. He expressed that they parted amicably after discussing their differences, wishing each other well post-divorce.
Choi Yeo-jin mentioned that their romantic relationship only began in 2024, after her fiancé's divorce, and she hopes people understand that they did not engage in any behavior that would warrant suspicion. She expressed her regret for any distress caused to her fiancé's ex-wife, stating, "I feel sorry for her because of me... I knew this would stir up trouble, and people who don't know the situation could easily misunderstand. If I had approached him with ill intentions, I wouldn't have been able to openly say I was dating him on another show."
