Choi Min-sik Expresses Regret to Younger Generation at Busan Film Critics Awards
At the 25th Busan Film Critics Association Awards held on December 13 at the Busan Cinema Center, actor Choi Min-sik received the Best Actor award for his role in the film 'Parasitic Grave' (파묘). During his acceptance speech, he candidly shared his feelings, stating, "I’ve been feeling frustrated lately and wanted to escape on a trip, but I’m grateful to receive this award and see the ocean." He reflected on the current societal turmoil, mentioning the 'protest sticks' that young people are wielding, referring to the ongoing political unrest.
Choi expressed his deep remorse as a member of the older generation, saying, "I am truly sorry for the absurd world we are showing you again. I never expected to face such a situation once more." He acknowledged the pain behind the smiles of the youth waving their protest sticks on the cold asphalt, bowing his head in apology for the circumstances they have inherited.
As the vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol is set to take place on December 14, voices from the entertainment industry continue to rise in support of the impeachment, with artists from various fields calling for action.
