Choi Kang-hee Works at Best Friend's Meat Restaurant on 'Point of View: My Friend'

On June 21, the MBC variety show Point of View: My Friend (전지적 참견 시점) featured actress Choi Kang-hee and BTS's J-Hope. During the episode, Choi introduced her close friend Mija, a former KBS comedian who now runs a meat restaurant. Choi praised Mija, stating, "Whether I am famous or not, she has always been the same person. She is as precious as a gem."
After finishing their workout, Choi and Mija headed to the restaurant, where Choi requested to have her photo displayed outside. Mija expressed concern about it being uncomfortable since it was a real job, but after Choi mentioned it during an awards ceremony, she agreed to put it up, albeit in a smaller size.
Mija, with tears in her eyes, shared her happiness about Choi returning to work, saying, "Seeing Kang-hee on TV looking so happy made me feel that she had overcome the difficulties of quitting acting. It was touching to see her here."
Choi explained, "I missed this friend while I was resting. I thought if I worked here, I could see her every day."
In the kitchen, Choi, who had previously washed dishes and prepared side dishes at the restaurant, effortlessly made steamed eggs, showcasing her skills. Dressed in a uniform, she actively assisted with dinner service, taking orders and preparing meals, which caught the attention of fellow cast member Jeon Hyun-moo, who remarked on her impressive energy.
Choi humorously recalled, "In the past, I didn’t put fish roe in my steamed eggs or the fish in my cold noodle dish," making everyone laugh. Mija noted, "Kang-hee was working so hard, washing dishes. I think her stamina has decreased; she even fell asleep at the playground. At first, she was slow, but she got really good at it. I understand now why she became such a famous actress in our country."
Choi even washed pots with stuck-on food, looking satisfied with her work. Mija expressed her deep affection for Choi, saying, "She feels like family. We've known each other for nearly 30 years, and I've never seen her angry or cursing. If someone bothers you, I would fight for you. She’s a friend who feels like family, even if it costs me."
