Choi Ji-woo Opens Up About Her Trauma from Variety Shows

On the January 8 episode of KBS2TV's Superman Returns (슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다), actress Choi Ji-woo (최지우) shared her experiences with trauma related to variety shows. During the episode, she met with Jang Dong-min's (장동민) daughter, Jang Ji-woo (장지우), and expressed her fears.

While preparing food, Jang Dong-min mentioned, "There’s garlic on the pavilion, Ji-woo, you need to chop it up." Choi Ji-woo humorously asked if he was calling her, to which he jokingly replied, "How could I say that to you, sister?"

However, Jang Dong-min then told his daughter, "Ji-woo, don’t just stand there; you need to move quickly," which made Choi Ji-woo laugh as she caught on to the playful banter.

As she attempted to climb onto the pavilion, Choi Ji-woo suddenly hesitated, saying, "I can’t go up; I’m scared." She revealed that she had been startled multiple times during a hidden camera segment on a horror variety show 28 years ago.

Choi Ji-woo remarked, "I felt like Dong-min wouldn’t let it go easily; I thought something might be hidden there." Jang Dong-min humorously responded, "Who would hide something in their house?" This made everyone laugh, but Choi Ji-woo remained skeptical, saying, "The people from the broadcasting station wouldn’t let it go that easily."

Eventually, Jang Ji-woo pointed out, "Look, there’s nothing here," to which Choi Ji-woo replied, "I thought someone would jump out to scare me because I’ve been tricked so many times."

Jang Dong-min then teased her, saying, "Someone will jump out from behind the pavilion," causing Choi Ji-woo to exclaim, "Don’t do that! I’m getting older, and if I fall, I’ll get hurt!" This light-hearted moment brought laughter to those around them.
