Choi Bool-am Returns to 'Korean Food Table' After Three-Month Break

Actor Choi Bool-am made an emotional return to KBS 1TV's 'Korean Food Table' (한국인의 밥상) on January 2, 2025, after a three-month hiatus. The 686th episode featured Choi, who had taken a break since September 2024, marking his first appearance in three months. 'Korean Food Table' is a program that showcases the hidden stories, history, and culinary culture of regional dishes through beautiful visuals and in-depth reporting. Choi has been a prominent figure on the show since its inception in 2011, serving as the 'national food expert' with his narration and food introductions.

During his absence, fellow entertainers stepped in to fill his role, including actors Kim Min-ja, Lee Je-hoon, Ryu Seung-ryong, Ji Jin-hee, Hwang Jung-min, Han Ji-min, Go Doo-shim, and Shin Ha-kyun, along with singer Lee Moon-sae and BIGBANG's Taeyang, who participated in a relay narration.

In his first broadcast back, Choi expressed his feelings while watching the New Year sunrise off the coast of Pohang, becoming emotional as he spoke. "Receiving the strong energy from the red sun that opens the New Year, I feel the strength to jump back in," he said, visibly moved.

Choi also expressed gratitude, saying, "It feels good to see you all again after a long time. I felt quite sorry for taking a break without saying goodbye. Coincidentally, during Choi's break, the nation faced several crises, including a state of emergency and a tragic accident involving a Jeju Air flight at Muan International Airport. His heartfelt return message resonated deeply amid these challenging circumstances.
