Cho Yong-nam Reflects on Regrets After Divorce from Youn Yuh-jung

On the November 30 episode of MBN's reality variety show, 가보자GO (Let's Go), singer and artist Cho Yong-nam showcased his signature wit. During the show, fellow cast member Ahn Jung-hwan praised him, stating, "I believe Cho Yong-nam is the most relaxed singer in South Korea." Cho responded smoothly, saying, "If others see me as relaxed, then that means I'm doing it right."
Cho, a former student at Seoul National University, shared a surprising story from his past. He recounted, "I was originally a student at Hanyang University, but I got involved in a scandal with a woman who was already engaged. She was the daughter of a wealthy family, and it caused quite a stir. I had to choose between pursuing a scholarship or dating her. I was young and naive, so I decided to continue seeing her until she said she didn't want to anymore, which led me to drop out of school. After that, I studied hard and managed to get into Seoul National University."
Despite claiming he has no bucket list due to living a life without regrets, Cho admitted to one significant regret: "The only thing I regret is not thinking about my children when I divorced and left home. I can't understand why I didn't consider them at that time. I was young and didn't know better."
In true eccentric artist fashion, Cho has also prepared for his posthumous arrangements. He humorously revealed, "I wrote a preemptive will stating that I don't want a funeral. When I die, I want the person next to me to cremate me and scatter my ashes under the Yeongdong Bridge. However, since scattering ashes is illegal, I wrote 'secretly' in parentheses."
When fellow cast member Hong Hyun-hee inquired about how he planned to divide his assets, Cho replied, "I wrote in my will to give half to the woman next to me, but I made a mistake. I have three children, so I specified that they should each receive three-quarters, and the woman should get one-quarter." This revelation left everyone astonished.
