Cast of 'Check-In Hanyang' Makes Bold Ratings Promises

On December 17, a press conference for the new Channel A weekend drama 'Check-In Hanyang' was held at the Eliena Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. The event featured cast members Bae In-hyuk, Kim Ji-eun, Jung Geon-joo, Park Jae-chan, and director Myung Hyun-woo, who shared insights about the show.

'Check-In Hanyang' tells the story of young interns at the luxurious guesthouse Yongcheonru, which is even more extravagant than a royal palace, as they navigate their tumultuous growth and romance during the Joseon era.

When asked about the audience's response he hopes to receive, director Myung Hyun-woo expressed, "I would be grateful if viewers enjoy the show. Unlike other Joseon-era dramas, this series features a backdrop where money and royal power coexist. It offers a glimpse into a new Joseon era, filled with various elements including the chaotic growth and revenge of the four main characters, making it an entertaining watch."

The cast also shared their ambitious ratings promises. Bae In-hyuk confidently stated, "While ratings are just numbers, I aim for 15%. If we reach that, the four of us will wear trainee outfits and perform a trending challenge dance, posting it on our personal SNS accounts. I will make sure to create a challenge that fits our trainee outfits!"

Kim Ji-eun added, "I’ll aim for a slightly lower target of 10%. If we hit that, we’ll do a live broadcast without any hair and makeup, just as we are, and have a Q&A session together."

Jung Geon-joo raised the stakes further, saying, "If we exceed 20%, I’d like to rent a café to share snacks and chat with our fans."

Park Jae-chan boldly declared, "If we surpass 25%, I will suggest to Channel A and the production company to create a Season 2!" This prompted MC Park Kyung-rim to jokingly ask if he had any stake in the show, to which Park Jae-chan replied, "No, I don’t," eliciting laughter from the audience.

'Check-In Hanyang' is set to premiere on December 21 at 9:10 PM.
