Captain America: Brave New World Dominates Box Office in Opening Weekend

The film 'Captain America: Brave New World' has made a strong debut, attracting nearly 600,000 viewers during its opening weekend and securing the top spot at the box office. From February 14 to 16, the movie drew in 583,860 attendees, bringing its total audience count to 790,000. If this trend continues, it is expected to surpass the one million mark comfortably. As of 6:30 AM on February 17, the film has approximately 33,000 advance ticket sales, ranking first among new releases.
This installment marks the fourth film in the 'Captain America' series, following 'Captain America: The First Avenger' (2011), 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (2014), and 'Captain America: Civil War' (2016). The previous films attracted 510,000, 3.96 million, and 8.67 million viewers in South Korea, respectively. Globally, 'The First Avenger' grossed $370 million, 'The Winter Soldier' earned $714.4 million, and 'Civil War' reached $1.153 billion.
In this latest film, Anthony Mackie takes on the role of the new Captain America, joined by Harrison Ford and others. The film is directed by Julius Onah.
In the weekend box office rankings, 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' came in second with 78,239 viewers (totaling 710,000), followed by 'Hitman 2' in third with 69,348 viewers (totaling 2.46 million), 'Detective Conan: The 14th Target' in fourth with 37,618 viewers (totaling 40,000), and 'Substance' in fifth with 20,992 viewers (totaling 470,000).
