BTS's V Teams Up with Bing Crosby for 'White Christmas' Release

Today, December 6, at 2 PM KST, BTS (방탄소년단) member V has released a new rendition of the classic carol 'White Christmas (with V of BTS)' featuring the legendary singer Bing Crosby. This marks V's second winter gift following his digital single 'Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)' released on November 29.

V has reinterpreted a portion of Bing Crosby's iconic 'White Christmas,' originally released in 1942 and beloved worldwide. His jazzy vocals blend seamlessly with Crosby's, creating a deeply moving listening experience.

Primary Wave, Crosby's record label, shared insights about the collaboration, stating, "We aimed to create a warm, nostalgic sound while ensuring V's voice was prominently featured." They noted that both V and Crosby possess baritone voices, which naturally complemented each other.

The collaboration was made possible through advanced technology, as Crosby's voice was not generated by AI but carefully extracted from the original 1950s recording of 'White Christmas.' This allowed for a pairing of Crosby's vocals with V's, enhanced by new instrumentation to give the impression that they recorded together in the same studio. The result is a beautifully crafted version of 'White Christmas (with V of BTS)' that feels like a live performance.

V expressed his admiration for the project, stating through his agency Big Hit Music, "I grew up listening to Bing Crosby's 'It's Been a Long, Long Time' countless times. It was a joy and an honor to sing alongside my idol. Bing Crosby is my favorite jazz artist, and I poured my fan love into this song, so I hope you enjoy it."
