BTS's V Makes Jazz Debut with 'Winter Ahead' as He Enters Billboard Hot 100 for the Fifth Time

BTS (방탄소년단) member V has once again made his mark on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to a recent announcement from Billboard on December 10, 2024, V's duet with Park Hyo Shin, titled 'Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)', has debuted at number 99 on the Hot 100 for the week of December 14. This achievement is particularly significant as it comes during a season when traditional carols dominate the chart.

This marks V's fifth entry on the Hot 100 as a solo artist. His previous entries include 'Christmas Tree' from the 2021 OST of 'Our Beloved Summer' (which peaked at 79), the title track 'Slow Dancing' from his first solo album 'Layover' (51), the track 'Love Me Again' (96), and the digital single 'FRI(END)S' (65) released in March of this year.

Released on November 29, 'Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)' reflects V's love for jazz. The song features soothing saxophone and trumpet melodies, along with a dreamy prepared piano sound that creates a warm atmosphere. Notably, Jesse Harris, the songwriter behind Norah Jones's hit 'Don't Know Why', contributed to the track. The gentle harmonies of V and Park Hyo Shin, combined with romantic lyrics, are sure to captivate listeners.
